Myself and my wife are looking at purchasing our first home togeather. We currently rent for £700 a month. I earn 44k and my wife is going to be starting her new teaching job in sep. We are looking at properties around 200k - 220k. We currently have a abou 8 percent deposit saved up. My wife wants us to carry on renting and save a bigget deposit but im suggesting, that by the time we have saved a bigger deposit, whatever we woupd have saved by using a bigger deposit we would have spent on rent (of that makes sense. Which is the better school of thought.
Also, i have 1300 left on my student loan and could easily pay it off, should i bother or just carry on paying it off as it is?
Thanks ladies and gents!
