Advice please

Hi Everyone,

I am looking for some advice if possible.
My OH and myself are thinking of looking to purchase our first home. we are due to move for my new job later in the year. to save private rent we thought we would look into buying. We have 5K saved for a deposit. Can anyone point me in a direction to go? the internet is a mind field.
Would we be able to get a mortgage as we both have debt and i am unemployed until October. My oh has a salaried position so have a steady income.
we live in scotland.

What will be happening to his job when you move?
There are potentially lenders but less than a handful. It is probably worth sitting down with a broker.
