The calculation will be available to view whether finally submitted or not."
I don't think that's true because the calculations won't be presented/confirmed until you have submitted the returns?
No you can see the calculation once you have completed all the information. This allows you to check what you have entered is correct etc. You still have to submit it.0 -
The tax summary in post 13 shows only part completed and not received.
That would imply that the final click to submit has not been done.0 -

However the Portal shows the tax calculations for last year and it also shows all the taxes paid !
Yes, but on which page? "Portal" and "last year" are ambiguous terms.
Later in the thread you show the page Tax Years. Is this the page you mean? If so then the Tax field fills with HMRC's own estimate well before you submit an SA Return - so a number being there doesn't imply that they've had a return from you, as you seemed to claim in this quote:.I don't think that's true because the calculations won't be presented/confirmed until you have submitted the returns?0 -
So got a letter from HMRC saying they have refunded the Penalty.
They didn't confirm or deny if they had received the previous return - which was the reason cited for the penalty appeal.
The letter simply asked us to file a return on time, so we re-filed our return and now all is well.
No taxes to pay.
And of course...multiple screenshots and copies taken of the return !0
