O/S Daily Saturday 13th April

This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Morning :)

Really chilly again but such a beautiful blue sky and sun. Apparently by next week it will be in the 20s again :T

Shattered after work last night so slept great...although the dreams had no rhyme or reason.

Usual Sat here cleaning/age uk call/hubby viewing :)

Grabbed some lamb mince out last night and the plan is to make some HM Doner kebab tonight... proper Saturday fakeaway

No other plans really so I'll wish you all a happy Saturday :A

    Morning everyone.

    Thanks for the start Nelski.

It's fab being at home. Last night my friends cooked a meal so we sat around eating, drinking (a little bit) and talking. The sky was full of sparkling stars so I stood on my doorstep for ages just looking at them. Now the sky is bright blue and the sea is twinkling away.

I have no plans for today. Think I'll stay another night. I'll visit DM tomorrow and then come back here as I've got a hospital appointment on Monday morning. Still more complications.

The friend who visited DM yesterday gave a very positive report on her. She's had IV fluids and antibiotics and seems much brighter and perkier - no more confusion. :j

Right, a few more minutes in bed for me.

    Happy Saturday to all.

    Morning All

    Thanks for the start Nelski.
Glad you're enjoying your 'break' in your own home Gers, a lovely day to be there.

The sun is shining, the bedding is on the line (including the mattress protector) and the towels will be going out in a few minutes. It's very cold again but no frost this morning.

I tidied up the back garden yesterday, well the bit that's OK, raked moss and weeded the borders so it's all ready for some plants to go in but they can wait until it warms up a bit. Just cutting the edges of the grass makes it look so much better.

I'm off to Ikea with a friend shortly, she has a much bigger car than me (who doesn't!) so I can get a bed for DGD and that's the room finished apart from putting up a few pictures.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend and you get to enjoy the sunshine. Take care. XX

Morning all. I am now an expert in night buses....They asked me yesterday how was I, so I told them about the morning creakyness, they asked if it was the painkillers....well, let's see, the only new variable is the radiotherapy, so no, don't think it's the painkillers....grumble grumble....
Both cats are in, circling round each other for one patch of sunlight on the carpet, even though there's lots of it elsewhere...they're like children...
    I'm glad I didn't have any.
Nothing got done yesterday, OH was out with a friend all day and night who's come to visit, same again today, so I am determined to get outside while it's sunny and if not do any work, at least sit in the sun....
Hope everyone has a good day today, the sun is shining, enjoy! Yo Holly! Wotcha people not posting for whatever reason...
    Scorching Saturday!

Morning all lovely sunny day but chilly here. I think I can find enough for a load of white washing. DH is in the bath and I am enjoying a cuppa in bed. Although I am sleeping in the spare bed atm I make coffee in the.morning and drink it with John in the big bed.

Gers glad you are enjoying your trip home. Taff hope the radio is going ok. Nelski have a rest today if you can.

Not much planned for today. I am frustrated that the gardener hasn't returned to cut the grass. Perhaps DS can do it tomorrow.

Enjoy the sun everyone and hugs for poorlies and those looking after them

Its a lovely sunny day here but windy and chilly the washing will dry well today, I have my work clothes in and a towel load to do after, OH will wash his clothes later.

Work was good fun yesterday I held a boa constrictor  it was round my neck as was a bit frightening but I make myself do these things, I also held a tarantula  which was even more scary but they are gentle creatures apparently.

On to today dd and I are taking her car into the garage as its making a funny noise, its under warranty so should not cost anything, I will follow her in my car and we will go shopping while hers is in the garage.

Don't know what we are eating tonight I will buy it today but quite fancy a steak.

House is lovely and tidy so just a swish and swipe of the kitchen needed.

    Have good days all xx

    Morning all
We had a lovely day yesterday with DD. I stuffed my face with lasagne and caramel apple tart  and I was so full I didn't want anything till supper time and then it was only tea and a biscuit ! We also went to Ne*t for DD and she bought me a reed diffuser and a porcelain cat plant holder ( with a succulent plant ) for my bathroom..... she's so kind and thoughtful :A.
Today the sun is shining so the WM is on with it's first load and there is another awaiting it's turn. The DW has finished and needs emptying and I also want to hoover the hall, stairs and landing today, then throw the hoover around the bedroom and shake the duster at it :D. I am hoping that I can get out into the garden this afternoon as the 2 green waste bins need filling up ready for Tues collection. That won't be hard as it looks like spring has sprung and the plants, along with the weeds, are shooting up at a rate of knots .
RedRuby well done on holding that spider..... I couldn't have been in the same building let alone the same room _pale_
taff I hope you can get to sit in the garden and take in the sun while resting. Recharging the old batteries is the order of the day :A.

Holly take care of yourself my friend and get lots of R and R.

Have a good Saturday everyone, what ever you are doing.
Hugs to all the poorly people, their carers and the worried ones.

Hello to all those still MIA :hello: including Tru, LW and Cranky and many more, I hope you are all OK.

    Morning all,

Just had a cup of tea so far, will have brunch in a bit, then plan on going to garden centre for some compost and a few plants to fill gaps until seed sown plants catch up.

Chilly here but sun is shining so will try to get out as much as I can.....there is rhubarb to be picked and frozen.

Hugs to all, have a lovely weekend.

Afternoon. We walked up tp Lidlee and Home B*rgains this morning. John enjoyed the outing and we bought fat balls and mealworms and some salad and tomatoes and broccoli. I don't feel.so reliant on ordering from Tosco now. Must get a shopping trolly lol.

    Good evening everyone :hello:
It's been lovely and sunny but a bit chilly today, still waiting for the warm weather really. I have had a nice day with the family. Lee is cooking dinner and Steve is playing games on his computer after cutting the grass and bathing the dogs this morning.

We have done three loads of washing including the dogs stinky bedding and have another three to go but they can wait till tomorrow. The big clean up didn't really happen but that can also wait until tomorrow.

Glad to hear you have all had fairly good days today. Hope you have a nice evening, take care xx
