Do I need to adjust the cooking time please?

Afternoon All!
I am going to bake a carrot cake.
The recipe calls for two 8 inch sandwich tins.
I only have 7 inch ones.
Obviously, the result will be a deeper cake, but do I need to adjust my cooking time to account for this please?
The time for an 8 inch is 25 mins on Gas 4.
Sorry if this is a stupid question!

You will still have the same volume of cake, so there should be no need to adjust the timings. Timings come in when you either increase or decrease the amount you are cooking.
Point to watch: Unless your 7" pans are properly deep you might have a problem with the cakes rising over the edge.
THis can be helped (and stop the tops burning) by fixing greasproof paper collars around the tins.0 -

I am inclined to disagree, because the 7" tin will cause the cake mix to be slightly deeper, this would therefore make the centre of the cake slightly further in from the edges. But I think any difference is likely to be pretty minor and would just recommend you keep an eye on it rather than putting an exact time on it......0 -
Thanks Guys.
Fen, no my 7 inch tins are pretty deep so that won't be a problem.
Dave, yes it was the deepness of the cake that concerned me.
Will let you know how I get on.Ageing is a privilege not everyone gets.
