Yes - you are now BR and you wait now for the OR to set up the phone interview and you should receive some paperwork in the post for signing.

Thanks for the reply, yeah feels much better now its official. i've had many sleepless nights, and spent so much time worrying im now looking forward to the future. fingers crossed the interview with the OR goes well.

I did read the stickys at top of forum about Reasons for your BR - 6.28, i did a draft of this but there was nowhere to input this online. i don't think they do 6.28 anymore, they just had a multiple choice section where you ticked boxes about why your in debt and when. was easy and straight forward.

so if any debt collection agencies get in touch i should tell them i'm bankrupt? and they cant do anything? i have printed out a copy of the bankruptcy order to give to any debt collectors.

Yes - the OR takes a few weeks to write to all the creditors but if any hassle you on the doorstep in the meantime - just give them a copy. If you get phone calls don't believe anyone who tells your a debt is not included in the BR - don't engage in conversation or argument with them - just tell them you are BR and direct them to the insolvency service web site where they will find your name.
It took me a few weeks to start to relax after years of financial distress - it was killing me and the relief was slow but steady - It actually took me about 2 weeks to have a full nights sleep for the first time in years

Letters for signing arrived today and telephone interview booked for next week. I have checked the insolvency register and i am listed as bankrupt. Massive weight of my shoulders, was really worried about debt collection agencies banging on my door. Not because we have stuff of value for them to take just the humiliation and shame. Had dreams of neighbours posting videos on social media of bailiffs removing my tv and sofa. We have all seen "cant pay, we will take it away," don't think i could handle that.

The letter also said if i have been self employed (which i was) i have to send a copy of my last years tax return and bank account statement for the last 12 months. They have given me a small envelope to return about 100 pages in :-/

I would advise anyone in similar circumstances to make a start today on sorting them out. It's far easier to put it off until tomorrow but you will feel and sleep better if you make a start today.

I will post back next week after interview and let you know how it goes. Hope you all have a worry free bank holiday weekend!
