Car loan deposit not given back
I was accepted for car finance, both the broker and the finance people emailed me and confirmed I had been accepted and both sent electronic agreements for me to sign which I did. I was told to pay the dealer the deposit which I did on the 28th of March.
The day after when the dealer was about to be paid out the finance people realised I already had a contract out with them so decided not to pay the dealer, I am now struggling to get back my deposit.
I have proof in email that both the broker and car dealer said I am getting my deposit but now the dealer is refusing to give me it.
The broker is trying to help but says it's nothing to do with them and the finance people are just not helping at all saying it has nothing to do with them but I only paid the deposit because they instructed me to so I could get the car they had said I was getting finance for and as I said I signed agreements which they are now saying the number of is non existent.
Clearly I have been misled and in no way at fault, the finance people should not of accepted me and have me sign an agreement if I already had one out with them. I was not aware that you can't have 2 credit agreements out at the same time. You can have more than 1 loan out at a time even with the same company so I presumed the same with car finance but even so I am still not at fault regarding this deposit as I was misled in to paying it.
I would be very grateful if someone could advise me what I can do now as I am clearly being ignored by all 3 parties involved

You can have more than one loan. Why do you think you can't?
If the deposit was to secure the car, you will struggle to get it returned, although the company has an obligation to mitigate their losses.0 -
Sorry I forgot to also say the dealer has told me in a recorded phone call that the car is no longer available anyway because they found faults with it so even if I was still allowed the finance they wouldn't of let me take the car with faults, i'm confused as to why I should struggle to get it back after I signed a finance agreement which made me pay a deposit.0

Who can I contact to take this further0

Letter before action to the dealer.0

Is there a template letter I can use to do this?0

Yea I have so no need for your pathetic response, if I am here to be spoon fed why have I only just come to the forum when it's been going on 2 weeks. So come on clever !!! what exactly am I supposed to use as a phrase to search for this specific situation0

Tricky one...how about "letter before action template uk".0

Thank you, I didn't realise it was an actual term I just thought the person who suggested that was saying I should write a letter before taking action with an ombudsman or small claims court. I will check now and see if I can find it0

Can I ask how you paid your deposit?
If it was by credit or debit card - phone them first to see if you qualify for a chargeback.0
