Tax rebate 2019

Hi , my tax rebate was at the status ‘ bank repayment pending ‘ on the 8th April and still haven’t received anything!! I’ve been in contact with HMRC online and they have said it can take anywhere between 10 and 28 days to be issued into your bank account. Just a matter of being patient I suppose 🤷🏼♂️1

I have found over many years the processing times vary. Last year for instance i did not file until June the 3rd but it was paid into my bank my the 11th of June that is submitting and processing 8 days!! . The longest i have had to wait is 12 weeks. on average its 15 days for me. I have also received money in my bank from them on a Saturday. This year i filed on the 8th if im lucky it will hit 18th(friday) but throw in a bank holiday weekend, lock-down and most Hmrc working from home. I know it will probably not be until next week sometime. Keeping my fingers crossed for all of you waiting that its this week )2

Not that this will be of much comfort to those still waiting but I did my self assessment and submitted it bank holiday Monday afternoon (13th) and didn't need to do any separate steps to request repayment from my tax account. I had just filled out my bank details as part of the process for an overpayment, and the money was visible on my bank account yesterday Thurs 16th.
It's only a few months since my last return - as for 18/19 I owed them money, so left it as late as possible, whereas this year they owed me five grand, so I did it nice and early... I'm not self employed just PAYE, so the refund just related to pension/ vct/ eis/ charity compared to my tax code.
I don't have my final P11D and couldn't be bothered to do all my CGT calc while waiting for my (nothing to pay there) so I just used a generous guesstimate of P11D numbers with a note to say they were estimates, and at some point later this year I'll submit the proper one and get a little bit more cash back. Absolutely no complaints here about the speed with which they paid me out !1 -
Is the money available or is it just showing as pending?bowlhead99 said:Not that this will be of much comfort to those still waiting but I did my self assessment and submitted it bank holiday Monday afternoon (13th) and didn't need to do any separate steps to request repayment from my tax account. If you complete the repayment claim element of your return before filing it and wait for the normal process to work through then you have no need to claim anything on your account, it is paid direct into your bank account within a few days.
A lot of people on this thread are impatient and constantly check their account. It's not clear if they are neglecting to claim a refund on the return itself or making a second (unnecessary) refund via their Self Assessment account before HMRC have completely processed the return.0 -
The system will update tomorrow with today's information. It has to change to issued so id say tue or Wednesday3
