I'm unable to get a got through normal interview

How prepared are you? Do you research the company? Do you look or know reasons why you want to join the company? Are you clear on what value you can add and the reasons you'd make a great employee?
You are selling yourself, that is the requirement for them choosing and accepting you then paying you to do something for them.
It is a generalisation but many overly technical people suffer in the personal/soft skills area, some interviewers will take this into account, but then you're blown out the water if there is a candidate that is technical and can interact in a non-technical way, or demonstrates strong people skills. If soft skills are the reason you are failing then you need to address that area - online video guidance, books, maybe even see what interview techniques help you can get in your area.
Good luck!0 -
If I was interviewing still and you spoke to me the way you come across here you wouldn’t get the job either.0

You come across fairly poorly in your opening post so I can see why all of those ‘excuses’ you say have been told to your agency could be true. Particularly the one about not being a good fit...
I have had many interviews over the years for varying ‘skill levels’ of jobs. I have had good feedback, bad feedback, neutral feedback, you name it, but I’ve not had the feedback you are apparently consistently getting. Those are not normal excuses. They are specific to you.0 -
Your attitude reeks.
Why are you getting personal about the interviewers?
Why are you likening asking about your personal life to pulling you apart? This is a standard question that will be asked in every interview - just say you like to visit friends and go to the cinema like everyone else?
Bizarre. I think you need more than just clever questions at the end of the interview...Know what you don't0 -
Op, you sound oddDon’t be a can’t, be a can.0

You need to learn the skill of mimicry.
Its fairly simple, you observe people and copy them but without getting to the childhood realms of copying.
Generally in an interview, providing you meet the basic competence its about getting people to like you. If they can relate to you, theyll like you more easily. So say someone takes a confident stance, theyll warm to you more easily if the confident stance is reciprocated. If youre jittery its going to make a confident person uneasy. Same is true vice versa. It could be as easy as picking out their buzz words. Mine is 'ultimately' (you can check, i use it way too much). If someone uses that word im going to think theyre more like me than someone who doesnt. In a business context they might like KPI's LFL's etc acknowledge them and draw them in to your own answers.
Its also no good going in with the idea that you think you can force something. You just cant. You can give the best answers and be the most likeable person in the world but if the person sat opposite doesnt feel right about you they just arent going to employ you.
Its also worth bearing in mind that they might be correct. Lets take the 'not a good fit' argument. IT guys (guys used a sexually in this instance) are generally towards the more socially awkward end of the scale. Im not in IT but techie orientated and suffer with the same issues, social interactions can be fairly illogical as such i can struggle to handle them effectively. This could quite easily be just as much a 'dig' at the existing team as it is you. We employ a few people that have to be managed so to speak in such regard. Theyre not the best with people and put them with the wrong person and youre going to end up with a complaint situation. Both could be excellent workers and liked but just not compatible with each other. Tightly nit teams can be particularly hard to break in to.0 -

Indeed. Recruitment is expensive and time consuming. Interviews are there to try and see if you are a good fit for the company. Personal life questions are an icebreaker, not them asking you to bare your soul in front of them. Not an expert, but like pensions, tax questions and giving guidance. There is no substitute for tailored financial advice.0 -
I think some of the comments are a bit harsh, it's difficult to see ourselves as others see us.
I do suspect, as another poster said, your work skills are good, but it's the soft skills are lacklustre. I hire people (truck drivers that double crew) and I want to know their experience, an assessment to see how they handle the vehicle, but equally important is what I think of them as a person. They can have the specialist qualifications and 20 years blemish free driving, but if I think they aren't a good fit to the team I'd rather hire someone that needs training with the right personality.
I ask myself is thus person someone I want to spend time with and are they a good reflection of my company. Do you think that is something that interviewers think about and how do they see you? I mean that constructively.Yes I'm bugslet, I lost my original log in details and old e-mail address.0 -
TBH, when the thread is titled 'I'm unable to get a got through normal interview' I immediately was put off by it, it doesn't take much at all to made a bad impression on people.0
