Car trouble

Hi everyone,
I'd appreciate your take on this situation. I declared in February. Included my car as worth £1200. During my interview the lady said that she couldn't find an equivalent car for less than £1900. I explained that the car needed work and that was why I'd estimated the value. She said if I could explain in writing why I had valued the car at the low price they would consider letting me keep it, if not they'd give me £1000 for a replacement. Now, since the interview it has deteriorated to the point that the £1000 is looking pretty nice. What are my options here? Can I email and just say come and get it? Will they value it when they get here? Or shall I just say it's not running right, it no longer has the value?
Cheers

The £1000 they 'give' you usually comes from the sale of the original vehicle - they allow you to keep £1000 from the sale and they keep anything over that. If the car you have is no longer worth more than £1000 - then I'm not sure what the OR can do really.
You can sell the vehicle and keep the proceeds to put towards another car as long as its not more than £10000 -
when i did my IVA, i got three quotes from three different garages, and averaged those out as the value of the car. unsure in BR if that is acceptable or not?0
