Hi All,
Last Sunday i managed to cut into the tip of my thumb with a stanley knife while cutting something (daft i know as i was cutting towards my hand/thumb i was holding the item with). A bit of blood appeared pouring but a rinse, some tissue and a plaster and it all seemed good.
Went on holiday the next day and with being that busy i’ve just got around to taking it off (didn’t want to take it off before incase anything got in while i was away etc..)
The scab seems to have started inside the cut that’s a few ml deep and there’s still a slight gap between the skin. I’m worried it will heal and have a permanent gap there?
Do i just leave it or try and soak / remove the scab so i can close the gap up and use some skin glue?
I’m not one for hospitals and i’ve started feeling nervous just writing this post out!
Thanks

The internet is great and all, but when you start seeking medical advice from strangers on a money saving site, you've probably taken it a bit far.
Get to a doctor or hospital.0 -

Think if you'd gone to walk in centre they'd have cleaned it then applied butterfly plaster0 -
it'll sort its self out eventually, you might have to peel a bit of skin around the wound.Mr Generous - Landlord for more than 10 years. Generous? - Possibly but sarcastic more likely.0

A walk in center does seem a sensible approach for something that may be very minor.0
