Ways to avoid reposession of home due to non-compliance from ex-partner on joint mortgage

Hi,
I have a joint mortgage with my ex-partner , we split nearly a year ago and I have been trying different methods for my name to be removed and at the stage now where the house looks like it will be repossed due to no co-operation from him.
I have been to see solictors and spoken to legal aids and spent hundreds on letters for them to be disregarded by him, I have tried to take my name off the mortgage but the mortgage company will not allow it, I have had the house valued and my ex-partner will not agree to selling the house, I was advised against a court order due to the sheer costs and the costs to be paid upfront which I do not have. I am now at a point where my ex-partner has cancelled his direct debit for the mortgage payment that came out of his bank account. As a result, I have liaised with the motgage company who have told me they could potentially reducde monthly payments to help me manage temporarily however agreement would need to be obtained from my ex-partner. However, my ex-partner has refused to allow any changes to the mortgage and has told me he will not allow a lodger in the house to help cover his mortgage payments. He has now moved out and has openly told me that he doesn't care about the house being repossed as his new partner has a mortgage, regradless to the detrimental effects it will have on the both of us now and in the future.
I am currently in a situation where the mortgage company have deemed the full mortgage payment as unaffordable for me to pay alone. I have always been in regular contact with the company to advise and update them of my situation but I am now in a situation where the proceedings towards reposession has taken place as from this month the payment has not been made due to not being able to afford the mortgage payment alone.
I have tried absolutely everything possible and was wondering if anyone had any experience in a similar situation as obviously I do not want my home to be repossessed and just wondered if there were any other alternatives as I am at such a loss at the minute and working on a tight deadline due to the start of the proposed reposession.
I have already contacted the owner of the mortgage company directly and Martin Lewis himself but have not had any contact back.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thankyou in advance.

I hope your ex understands having a repo on his credit file will ruin him as well and make it difficult to get any credit or future bank acounts, Talk about cutting your own nose to spite your face
Looks like it has been taken out of your hands with the repo, forcing him to sell through legal means is expensive and lengthy.
I feel for you, I hope you can get this resolved, Citizens advice bureau would be a good start if not already done so
Other alternatives could be borrow money from friends and family"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

I wonder if he is using it as a reason to get a council house?Blackpool_Saver is female, and does not live in Blackpool0

If the property is empty and the mortgage is unpaid. Hand the keys back. Voluntary repossession.0

Hi, Thankyou for the replies.
I have already spoken to citizens advice and they were of no help. I’ve tried all avenues from solicitor, speaking directly to the mortgage team via emails and phone calls, the courts, seeking legal aid to citizens advice but with no luck.
Sadly because I’ve worked all my life and myself and family are not in a position where borrowing money is an option, it was a good idea though but still there would be no co-operation from my ex partner as despite the prospect of the house being repossessed, he isn’t phased by it. Whereas the thought of losing my home is something that I am trying to combat on a daily basis and exhausting all options.0 -

Appreciate that coming to term with reality isn't easy. Sometimes better to accept reality , take the big hit, reel around for a while. But then to pick yourself up off the floor and channel energies into positive activities. Those that look forwards. You'll feel all the better for it inside.0
