Halifax Mortgage after bankruptcy?

Hi, is it possible to get a Halifax mortagage 2 years after bankruptcy? I’ll probably have around 30% deposit once all my inheritance comes through. I also have letter of redundancy which caused the bankruptcy.

Thanks you

Possibly but probably unlikely with it being so recent.
A lot will depend on how the debts you had appear. If you had one large default, it probably bodes better than 20 debts being rolled up in to the bankruptcy with all that entails.

Difficult to say with not much to go off, but I doubt you will get "normal" lenders until you have been discharged for another year. At the minute, I would say closer to rates of 5.5-6% for 2 years with a specialist lender.

If it is six years or more from the date the bankruptcy was registered, you can answer "no" to the "Have you...?" question.

If it's less than that, you can't; but how you might get on from that point onwards, who knows...?
