Going bk a week on thursday ,When the OR request bank statements ( which I have ) I am bothered because my daughter had her child benefit and csa payments paid into my bank account, this has been going on since she split with her abusive husband 2 yrs ago. Also she gets things out of kays catalogue which I pay with her money from my bank account then I pay her rent and give her any money she has left. Will the OR believe me when I say it isn't mine, Just hope he has ways of checking . But it is just one of the things that is bothering me. Can anyone put my mind at rest.

Morning JG.Hope you managed to get some sleep.
Beniffits paid to your daughter will all be reccorded so OR will have evidance that they are not yours.If you can provide some statements for catalog in her name same should apply.You will not be the first mum to help in this way OR will have seen others Im sure.
You will however have to make sure your daughters money is put into another account to yours or the money will be frozen.Could she open a bank account at the COOP? Advantage being you can pay in & take out at the Post Office as well as pay for council tax,buy saving stamps for other bills all at the same time.A basic account would give her a Visa/Electron card that will allow cash withdrawls from most cash points but only if the money is there as no overdraft limit.Coop will also do s/o & dd.
If you have not yet got a different account to the one you have statements for the Coop are one of the banks who accept BR on basic account .
Hope that made some sence.Someone with more knowlage will be along very soon and correct me if Im wrong:o

Yes ,that does make sence, she has already sorted her money into another account. The kays catalogue is in my name though ,but I never get anything out of it , it is all hers, I dont want this kays catalogue to go into the bankruptcy it is not mine and it is the only way my daughter can get big stuff. Will they make me put it in. I have not put it on the forms.

Hi Jays
I kept a catalogue and never mentioned it on the forms (i had nothing owing on it)
The only thing to watch is how much credit you have available on it. Your not allowed over £500. I've had to contact my catalogue and explain the situation and ask them to reduce my credit limitThe first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter

You are allowed credit over £500, but you must inform the potential creditor of your bankruptcy first.6. What are your duties as a bankrupt?
When a bankruptcy order has been made, you must:- comply with the Official Receiver’s request to provide information about your financial affairs. The Official Receiver may request that you attend at his or her office for an interview - the Court will give you the address of the Official Receiver. (Note: usually before the interview, you will be sent or given a questionnaire which you should fill in as fully and accurately as possible.) If the Official Receiver does not ask that you attend at the office for an interview, you will be sent a letter which will set out what is required of you. Again it is likely that you will be asked to complete a questionnaire. You should note that in either circumstance, any questionnaire completed before the bankruptcy order, supplied to you by an adviser or another third party, will not be acceptable;
- give the Official Receiver a full list of your assets and details of what you owe and to whom (your creditors);
- look after and then hand over your assets to the Official Receiver together with all your books, records, bank statements, insurance policies and other papers* relating to your property and financial affairs;
- tell your trustee about assets and increases in income you obtain during your bankruptcy. (Note: by law you must inform your trustee of any property which becomes yours during the bankruptcy. Such property includes lump sum cash payments that you may receive, for example redundancy payments, property or money left in a will);
l stop using your bank, building society, credit card and similar accounts straightaway; - not obtain credit of £500 or more from any person without first disclosing the fact that you are bankrupt;
- not make payments direct to your creditors.

Thanks for that Fermi, i didn't realise.
I've let them know i'm BR but haven't heard anything from them yet.
I'd be surprised though if any company allowed more than £500 and i certainly wouldn't want anymoreThe first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter
