14 days to cool off!

Hi I bought a piano 17th August 2018, paid a deposit and through the website I financed the rest on a fixed sum loan for 2 years. The piano wasn't delivered until 7th September and it was faulty (currently doing battle under the Consumer Rights Act). But how could I reject the loan within 14 days if I hadn't received the goods. Do I have any leg to stand on with this? Thanks

Make a section 75 claim with the lender at the same time as pursuing the retailer.0

Thanks but I have done that already and have to wait the full 8 weeks for a decision to be made.0

That should sort it.
Don't go cancelling any direct debits.0 -
I have just had a letter in the post this morning stating they are not upholding my complaint as they are believing the company that sold the faulty piano that it is NOT faulty!! grrrr..... ombudsman and court. However, I still want to know if I have any rights based on the cooling off period and having not received the good within the 14 days of taking out the finance.0

Even if you cancel the finance within 14 days it doesn't necessarily mean you can return / cancel any product within 14 days.
If you bought a car and drove it home you could cancel finance next day doesn't mean garage is going to take the car back, you'd have to pay cash.0 -

The 14 day cooling off period allows you to cancel the loan, you would still need to pay for the goods using some other means.
Think of the finance and the order as separate items."We act as though comfort and luxury are the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about” – Albert Einstein0 -
Thank you for your clarifications on this. Sadly I have now had to file a complaint with the financial ombudsman as they are not upholding my complaint that the piano is faulty despite the independent assessment report and numerous videos of the piano not working.0
