Do we still have to claim universal credit as a couple

My husband works ft and I am not working currently, I wanted to claim universal credit to get my pension stamp covered. But it states we have to claim as a couple. I can understand giving the information of his earnings and our savings etc. but it seems it wants him to complete forms as well online. Does this mean he also will have to come to the job centre with me. I am new to this..it seems rather complicated. any advice knowledge welcome, thanks.
