DB pension - take early or transfer?

Joe, I'd be astonished if anyone would be able to make that fly, if the advice against transferring was clear. Having said that, I wouldn't put it past some chancer trying it under a CFA, in the hope of getting a halfway decent nuisance offer! 😣
I've seen several reports here of exactly that happening. The reasoning goes (AIUI) that even if someone signs an agreement stating they undertstand what they are doing, it's deemed that since it is "technical pensions stuff" then if they aren't a pensions specialist they are not competent to sign that and therefore their agreement is null and void and they can get recompense.0 -

Wow, that's ridiculous - but a quick Google of "suing financial advisor" shows it's obviously a lucrative market 😐0 -
Just as a ranging shot: the current yield of the FTSE All Share is about 4.4%. That would give you a natural yield pension of 16.7k, increasing in line with all share dividend increases.
Many top dividend payers made payments in either $ or €. Dividends likewise have not increased. Exchange rates have fallen though. There's where much of the boost has come from.0
