Solicitors are never deceitful and if you suspect they are, then you report what you consider to be deceitful to the Solictors Regulation Authority for investigation.

The main issue is people transposing what is said by the solicitor's client as being words from the solicitor themselves. They represent their clients to the best of their ability but solicitors have a duty to the court to present facts as given to them by their clients.
Are clients deceitful? You bet. Are defendants deceitful? Don't doubt it. But the system works on the basis the guy in the middle (the judge) weighs both parties statements equally for truth.
Calling Solicitors deceitful is simply shooting the messenger.Unlike some here, I am not omniscient. If I am wrong correct me. I won't take offence.

WhenIam64, it might be worth quickly scanning the parking forum to see the flagrant breaches of the law perpetrated by solicitors. They aren't represtative of the whole profession, but some are sadly a way off being awarded their halos.0

So I've dug deeper and it seems he had been paying a small amount monthly and stopped in December 2018 when it had fallen off his credit file. I'm assuming this means he'd previously acknowledged the debt. They have written to him today to confirm receipt of the 'admittance' letter and would be happy to continue with a monthly amount and won't take it to a CCJ. I'm guessing that this is the best of the bad situation and the fact it's no longer showing on his file is the positive of it all.
Do current me if I'm wrong but thank you all for your help (and apologies for drip feeding the info, I didn't have it all when I first posted)0 -
