MSE notifications problem

I haven't been getting email notifications from MSE for at least a couple of days, although threads I subscribe to, with instant notification ticked, have been posted on. Is this happening to anyone else?
Thanks

I've been getting notifications for all the ones i'm subscribed to
& quite a few of them repeated 2/3 times! one after another,
suppose it's a good thing but a bit time wasting to find it's the same post
over & over again :eek:please be a responsible pet owner & spay/neuter your pets, too many strays & not enough homes for them sadly.

Thanks Petal - I guess it's not just me then. Looks like they're misbehaving in different ways. I guess it's an MSE thing, that will sort itself out in time.

Not directly related, but is there another MSE issue with expired comps going into Game Over?
I've pressed Expired on several comps a couple of days ago but they are still sat on the main comps board.
It looks like nothing has moved into Game Over since 31/030 -
My thread e-mail notifications have for a few days been going into my junk folder, although that may just be another case of Outlook/Hotmail being weird.0

Sticking my neck out but I'm guessing that it is Glad who normally does the moving out of expired comps and I see that she has not been on since 01/04.
Hopefully this is just a break and nothing is wrong.
In the meantime, can one of the other BGs do the moving?
There's around 160 ending 01/04 still on main board
One person clicking the Expired button does not move a post to GO, it takes several. Do we all need to start clicking expired on old comps?0 -
I have had problems for years.
originally used a btinternet.com email address that worked OK.
Then after a few years notifications just stopped.
Set up a gmail email address and that worked ok, then that stopped.
Then my old btinternet.com started sending me notifications again ok..
It works most of the time but I find it unreliable for "instant" notifications,
I subscribe to "I won..", "Compers chat corner" and "competition time which are "daily". They generally arrive about 00:30 every morning, but sometimes very late, and sometimes not at all.
I assume it is just me with these problems?Your genetics load the gun.

I think this is, hopefully, sorted now. Today, I have been getting notifications, like I used to, for threads I have subscribed to.
In case it is helpful to anyone else at some point, I will say what I have found out about the problem:
Having searched on MSE for this, I find that occasionally this has happened to others. Sometimes it seems to be an MSE 'thing', that affects a number of users. When this happens, the only solution is to report it in Site Feedback: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=&f=50 and to wait for MSE to sort it.
However, sometimes it seems to affect individual users, as it has me for the last few days. I am not sure if anything I did caused/solved it, or if it was just a blip that has righted itself. However, if this is happening to anyone else, I suggest the following.
1) Check that where you have subscribed to threads that you have ticked the box to subscribe to the thread and to receive "instant notification by email"
2) Assuming the above doesn't resolve it, post about it, as I did, on the forum, to see if it is affecting others too.
3) Check your MSE settings, via your profile page, to make sure there is nothing there that might interfere with MSE sending you notifications.
4) Clear cookies
5) Check your Internet settings to make sure you haven't accidentally added MSE to a blocked sender list.
6) Wait patiently for it to hopefully resolve itself.
I suspect that for me, it was either #5 or #6 that was the issue. I did find one MSE email that was in my blocked sender list, and I deleted that. However, after doing this, late yesterday, I still found that I wasn't getting notifications where posts had been added to threads that I had subscribed to. But then today, I have started getting notifications again. So I'm nearly sure that the problem was either a blip that sorted itself, or it was that I had accidentally blocked MSE as a sender, but that clearing it took a little time to make the difference.
Hope this will be helpful to anyone else experiencing the same problem.
