Visa Comp ... TXT or main board?

I've got a Comp post : https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5985953/e-27-05-win-with-visa-must-have-visa-txt
in Short : You buy something from a shop with your Visa Card, get a code from your receipt and text it to Visa.
So the question is ... should this be on the main board? it says "Standard network rates may apply." for the TXT, but I guess that means it'll be in your text allowance (therefor Free) ... so not sure if it should be in the TXT & postal forum since you do have to text or just in the main board 'cause it's a (possibly) free text?

Main board copied to dailies maybe."Every time you feel yourself getting pulled into someone else's nonsense, tell yourself: Not my circus, not my monkeys." - Mark Borkowski.

I didn't think it was simply a question of cost. Some small cost purchase comps do go on the Main Board.
Surely it is mainly a segregation of different types of entry.
Main Board is for Internet entry comps.
Post, phone, text entries or a combination of these go on the Post, Phone & Text Board.
This is Text entry so goes on this Board.
If cost does come into it, I can't imagine I'm the only person who has to pay for texts.0 -
I would go with Text as it is the method of entry (PAYG so I don't get any free texts)
Just remembered the TESCO ones are SNR and they go in that section, I don't generally look in there so there may be others0 -
Be careful on the T&C's. Only includes purchases from independent shops (Visa define this as a business with 4 or less branches). i.e. You can't enter with your Sainsbury's receipt! Keep your receipt for validation.
Not all contactless payments will be accepted.
Standard network rates for text message which means you may be charged even if you have inclusive texts.0 -
So would that include restaurants and newsagents? Sorry0
-
Yep - just not WH Smith or any of the restaurant chains.0
-
Just to add that competition texts even when SNR don't usually come out of a text allowance but are charged on top of your price planYou never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Thanks folks, I'll leave it in the TXT board ... just a shame that a lot of people will probably miss it.0

I would think so yes. I entered yesterday after paying by Visa at a local hairdresser's (1 branch only) and it accepted the entry. I think although it states "make a purchase" I think it means make a payment, at any outlet with 4 or fewer branches nationwide or globally.0
