    A "simple letter" is hardly going to be sufficient to work as a guarantee for a mortgage.

    Ok well an affordability check and a contact then? It was a long time ago I used a guarantor for a mortgage.

    That's the product that's on offer. The second borrower will also reside in the property. Which adds futher complications.
