Please could someone tell me how holiday entitlement is worked out on the basis that full timers get 22 days holiday. I'm on pro rata of this as i work under 37 hours. I work 25 hours a week, 5 hours a day over 5 days.
on my contract is says i have 3.6 days as pro rata, How is the figure 3.6 worked out?
This year I will have done 5 years service and will be entitled to 27 days at pro rata.

How many weeks a year do you work?
How have they worked out 22days for full timers?
Statutory is 5.6 weeks 28days for a 5 day a week person.0 -
Im a cleaner in a school, the 22 days in not inclusive of the 8 statuary and bank holidays. Ive just checked my contract and realised the 3.6 was based on 20 hours, my original hours till it was increased to 25. Still dont know how that equates to number of days off. Im on salary. My contract is not subject to term time only0

The BH are not statutory holidays in employment.
If you work 52 weeks a year and work 5 days a week you are entitled to the same holiday as a full timer(just paid at a lower rate)
If FT gets 30days that's what you should get statutory minimum would be 28(5.6weeks)0 -

Well, this is all correct but complicated. Here is a simpler way.
EVERYONE is entitled to the statutory minimum of 5.6 weeks, including bank holidays. This is true whether you work 40 hours a week or 1 hour a week.
Part timers must not be treated less favourably than full timers. So if FT workers are entitled to 30 days (which I have calculated as being 22 days plus 8 BH - it can't be 22 days including BH as this would be illegal) then this works out to 6 weeks. You, too, are entitled to 6 weeks. So if you work 25 hours a week you are entitled to 150 hours' holiday a year. If you work 20 hours you are entitled to 120 hours' holiday.
If you changed from 20 hours to 25 hours halfway through the holiday year, you are entitled to half of 120 hours plus half of 125 hours.... you get the idea.
Also, your employer is entitled to dictate when you take this holiday. So if you work 10 of your 25 hours on a Monday, sadly the employer is entitled to say that all your BH Mondays come off this entitlement (assuming that you don't work on BH). If you don't work on BH you do have to take these hours off your entitlement to work out what you have to plan with.Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -
So Im assuming that when my entitlement reaches 27 days plus the 8 BH my holiday equates to 35 days holiday. This is then 7 weeks holiday?0

As you work 5 days a weeks same hours every day you get 27days(once you hit the 5 years.
Might be a clause it starts next holiday year so check).
They only need to prorata if you work less than 52 weeks.0 -
Thank you everyone for your help!0
