Ssas....should i add my wife?

I have read that you can add wives to an established ssas even though they do not work for the company.
Can anyone tell me the advantages of this please?
Thanks

Given the number of pension queries you've raised lately, retirement provision is clearly on your mind.

Would you benefit from a consultation with an Independent Financial Adviser?

You would tick "confirmed independent" and such other specialisms as required.

    Good evening xylophone and Dox

I am trying to acheive certainty she will receive ‘the pot” as it were on my demise, and also wondered if i added her as a trustee , whether she could draw on the pension whilst I am still here?

I should have added a dear friend of mine recently went to the co-op for groceries and never returned.
His widow (second wife of 35 yearsj has since had an appalling time with his children, who have made her life a living hell.
I dont want the same happening to my wife , hence the questions.
I shall see an ifa, but wanted to get an idea of the possibilities first, so i ‘know what i dont know’ as it were.

    Thankyou .
