I work for an IFA who employed an advisor and my husband and I wanted a small mortgage on our miortgsge free house for some renovation work. The advisor spent 2 months so far and we were at AIP for 2 weeks then he left the company and never proceeded with our application.
The company spoke to the building society who said they get advisors leaving companies all the time and the business owner could progress. The advisor was paid his last salary yesterday and then cancelled the agency and set up a. Re one all in the same day thus cancelling our application.
How can I complain and who to please ? This advisor has been incredibly unprofessional.

So, basically your employer had a member of staff.
You were dealing with the member of staff who subsequently left.
You want to know who to complain to? Have you complained to your employer as you were a client?
Have you read any info on your employer's website about lodging complaints?Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0 -
If you work for the broker, why would you not just bring it up with your boss?
If you want to complain as a customer, you would need to make a complaint over the phone or in writing. They will investigate it and come back to you - usually within 4 weeks.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. That is normally the case. The advisor was paid his last salary yesterday and then cancelled the agency and set up a. Re one all in the same day thus cancelling our application.
If the agency was cancelled and a new one set up, this suggests a change of network or principal. And importantly, liability. You cant set up new business on an agency that has been closed. It has to be placed through the new agency. How can I complain and who to please ?This advisor has been incredibly unprofessional.
Why?
They only have to submit the application on their new agency and job done.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
It sounds to me like your recourse for complaint will simply be to your employer.
A bit pointless all round, move on.I am a Mortgage Broker
