Student Loan Application Query
Apologies if this has been asked before (but I can't find it anywhere)...
My girlfriend and her ex partner split several years ago and their daughter who lives with my girlfriend is about to apply for a student loan.
I currently live in the house with my girlfriend and pay an agreed rent for a room which is documented. Whilst concerned for the girls' moral and academic welfare I have no intention of making any emotional or financial contribution as I have my own personal commitments and lifestyle.
Consequently the girl will be penalised as a result of the loan she can apply for because of my income. Neither she or her mother want a financial commitment from me on top of the rent I pay. Consequently, I may have to move out or even as an extreme end the relationship.
Has anyone else got or had this problem? Can anyone help please?

It sounds as if you'd be best off separating now, rather than kicking the can down the road, and allow her to borrow more.0

It won't be separating...it'll just be moving out and pay someone else my rent...so her mum will be £n/month worse off...0

I must have misinterpreted when you said you would end the relationship.0
