John Lewis/Debenhams Gift Vouchers as marriage gift

I am planning to buy a gift voucher worth £50 as a gift for a marriage I am attending . I believe John Lewis and Debenhams are the two names which spring to mind. Are these any good or are there any others as well. I am confused because I do not know the person choice of the bride and the groom and there is no gift list provided as well.

Which is the best place to buy these vouchers? Or any other suggestions welcome.

Thanks
I wanted to thankyou a million times but its a shame that I can press the button just once :T

Have you asked if they have a list? Some people don't include it in their invites, but do have one if you ask.

Otherwise, personally I'd go with John Lewis vouchers over Debenhams.

You can buy them instore or online https://www.voucherexpress.co.uk/VERSE/johnlewis/index.aspx

Thanks for the reply. I would go with John Lewis voucher only then.

Another silly Q, would the £10 off voucher on a £50 spend be valid on a voucher purchase... I presume, the ans would be NO

    Thanks

no idea...but you can only try!
  • There is also a 'shopping centre voucher' you can buy, which can be used at any shop in a number of large shopping centres.

My OH got some for a birthday present recently and it means she's got a much larger choice of places to buy from. John Lewis is in the shopping centre.. so she can also buy from there

I know i'm gonna get a load of JL vouchers for my wedding - frankly I think it's very over priced and I'd rather have cash. Harsh, but true.

No one's ever been offended by a cheque
  • I think the advantage with John lewis vouchers is that they give 'change', they can also be spent in Waitrose.
