I used to be able to purchase Virasorb Cold Sore Cream in poundland for a pound. They don't seem to stock it any more. Does anyone know where I might be able to purchase Virasorb or another Cold Sore Cream for roughly the same price.

That's a very cheap price for an acyclovir cream. I suspect Poundland sourced a big batch from somewhere very cheaply (As is their business model) and sold it on. I doubt they can get a regular supply at this price. Acyclovir creams are usually £4-5 for a 2g tube. How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
I’ve use Virasorb successfully and so much cheaper than the named brand. Try B&M or Home Bargains. We’ve no pound shops anywhere near me so i will have bought from one of those shops.0

As pattycake says, Home Bargains usually stock it although I can't remember the price. I think that it's around a pound. Very good if you apply as soon as you feel 'the dreaded tingle'!The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.
Thanks to everyone who contributes to this wonderful forum. I'm very grateful for the guidance and friendliness that I always receive from you.

I was in my local B&M today. Sadly no Virasorb on the shelves.0

my local home bargains stocks a version of those cold sore clear plasters that usually cost upwards of 6 quid for 79p, I will be in there in next few days and will check for cream and report back.
p.s for regular coldsore sufferers please see your doctor. I have been prescribed aciclovir tablets in the past that work a treat.0 -
It should be pointed out that gps will no longer prescribe medication for irregular cold sore sufferers. At £36 cost per prescription dispensed it is easy to see why. https://www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/the-full-list-of-medicines-no-longer-available-on-nhs-prescription-from-next-month-a3836361.html0

I started getting cold sores quite regularly a few years ago and someone online from the US told me about the supplement Lysine.
It worked much better than getting a cold sore and then using cream to get rid of it afterwards.
I take two tablets a week and haven't had a cold sore in ages! It really worked for me.:) I saw Holland & Barrett have their penny sale on at the moment so you might be able to get a bargain.0 -
Have a look on Ebay, also try Home & Bargains, Quality Save, Body Care, Savers etc.0
