At one time the situation was unclear regarding the treatment of council tax in bankruptcy. That position was clarified some time ago (2014, off the top of my head) when a court decision ruled that council tax would be a provable debt for bankruptcy purposes

That's the ones. I do have those cases filed somewhere in my work stuff but thanks for posting the direct links.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0
