I figured if we ever moved again to build our dream house, we would want a totally separate office/workshop, that way if we ever had clients coming, they would never set foot in the house. Is there anything real estate wise that would work for you like that? A separate outbuilding perhaps? That would be so nice to take care of your clients and then be right back in your house nice and comfy, but I'm biased. I work 100% from home and can't fathom anything else :D
    Mortgage start date Dec 2015 - $64,655.00
Mortgage end date Dec 2045 - NOT!!!!
    Mortgage balance  - $4600.00
    Business Savings $43,310/100k
Hope to be mortgage-free by end of 2023

    Hello!

Could you do some mobile therapy work instead? I used to do massages - mostly at home, sure, but I did have some regular clients where I went to their house instead (charged more) I know that where I live people are often looking for mobile this-and-that :) (depends on you couch, I guess - mine is foldable, but a heavy wooden Darley one (and the same for the massage chair) but I love it :D)

    ps: you're doing fab, btw! :) x

Thank you for that suggestion - I do have a mobile couch (called Violet!), but now have a teeny tiny Fiat 500c so can just about fit a handbag in the boot, so would definately struggle with a couch - also I would physically struggle to carry/move it about due to the injury some years ago (broken back....). However - I could get a footstool and do Reflexology treatments....... that is a good thought!

I do have a separate log cabin at the bottom of the garden (known as The Shed of Joy!) that I had built especially for treatments.....but the OH has a lot of his stuff in there. He has a lot of his DVD's and also lots of equipment from a first aid business that never got off the ground. He still aims to do it 'one day' - but that doesnt help me in the short term really. I want to start earning and I have 2 days per week in which I could build up a business.

That has given me food for thought actually - its really helping writing all this down - so thank you all for putting up with my whitterings!

So....how on earth do I tactfully say 'Oi, move your crap I need the space again' without sounding like an utter cow?:rotfl:

Sell it on the basis you're looking to replace the income you've lost in losing 2 days at work? - and that income (or part of it?) will be used to OP/ pay for treats - whatever will help give him motivation!

So - interesting development today. I spoke to the member of staff who looks after staff welfare and engagement about offering holistic treatments at work on a non working day. She is really engaged with the idea - and has asked me to put something together in an email so she canask for permission for me to start!
    Very exciting!

    Happy weekend all!
Nothing much to add, apart from being more mindful of spending etc.....

Ive resisted ordering a takeaway - so have moved the money I would have spent to my 'mortgage overpayment account'.
I have also done this with the remainder of my petrol budget, so if I dont spend it, I can make an overpayment.

Just need an extra £13 to make my £200 overpayment target this month (if I dont need to pinch back the funds for fuel!)

Off to browse your diaries now..... :)
