that does seem a long time to wait! Especially as someone who's off sick can do without extra tension... now this sounds tongue in cheek but isn't - is it possible your line manager has left or is off for some reason? If so could you do a follow-up email (maybe on Monday to give them the rest of this week to reply) and copy in a senior person, just saying you are concerned as you've not heard anything following the OH appointment, that you are still not fit for work but want to keep them up to date.
I see from your user name by the way that it's possible your interests already lie in the direction of exercise! Morata's advice is good but I know you may not feel you can do this at the moment. It's only one of the five or six areas that support better mental health - and I must apologise that the only other one I can remember off the top of my head is community/social contact. I think another is doing things for others? So sorry not to be more complete in this, I did try googling but can't think of key words and have to be at work very soon.
All good wishes, I hope you find a way through this in the near future and can find a way forward.

  • Hi, just wondered if there is an employment support advisor in the mental health team who you could speak to if you wanted to? Sending you best wishes with everything, hope it works out for you. (This is my first post so sorry if I have done it wrong!)

I e-mailed HR direct and got a reply from someone there that was able to answer my somewhat innocuous question. They also asked if I planned to appeal the decision that I not be medically retired, which I absolutely have no intention of appealing. So, hopefully that spurs something in to happening.

I’ve been discharged from the CMHT so no longer have much contact with them. Given everyone else I’ve seen I’m not sure how much more they could help. I might see what’s available over the weekend though.
  • Can I suggest a couple of places for possible info on employment issues are Acas and local Citizens Advice Bureau, in case they are relevant for you? Good luck and best wishes.

I'd sent an e-mail to my line manager on Wednesday about a more practical matter of when my next sickline would be required, I didn't get an out of office reply, but neither have I got a reply from her either.
Surely you keep submitting Fit Notes until you're fit to go back to work? Whatever else is happening in the background, that's a given.

Yes, I fully expected so, but I wanted to open a line of communication with my line management because it was feeling like I hadn’t had anywhere near the contact I would expect.

In the end I just opened that line direct with HR and at least took a small step forwards by confirming I don’t wish to appeal OHS findings. Presumably they will now move ahead with reasonable adjustments.
