Tesco coupons do accept alcohol

Interesting I have some Tesco £8 off £40 vouchers and on the back it says excludes alcohol. If go through a self scan or scan n go, buy alcohol and use the coupon and it works. Bought £20 of gin with it. Plus £26 of groceries. Also, last year, I had a coupon printed on the receipt roll for £2 off any JJ Whitley flavoured gins.
Though I wouldn't recommend to use the coupon if everything you are buying is alcohol.
