    Is that definitely right? My understanding is one calendar month from the date of the request. Happy to corrected.

    Your correct it is from the date of request, unless in this case they require further information like ID.

    I suppose that's where the disputes arise, and once you've complained the ICO and they've finally got round to writing a strongly worded letter to the employer telling them to provide the information it's all sorted!

    Yes but they have to reasonably be happy you are who you say you are.
