What tax year the income from vested stocks counts in?

in Cutting tax
My company RSU vested at the end of March and they sold some to cover income tax, as per the tax legislation. My March payslip, however, did not include tax on vested RSU. Does this income count towards this tax year as technically RSU vested in March? Or is it in the next tax year because I will see that income tax in my April payslip?
Thank you!
Thank you!

I would expect it to be 2018/19, i.e. it's treated as income in March, at the point the shares were delivered to you.
When I was in such a scheme, the tax didn't appear until the next month's payslip - though in that case it didn't cross a tax year.
I would guess that in your case, you won't see the tax on your April payslip (because there's no tax implication for 2019/20), but it will appear on your 2019/20 P60.
Probably best to ask your HR department to confirm this.0
