Warning on scam text messages.

I have just found out i was charged £4.50 for a premium text message that I have not sent. After speaking to 02 I found out that the charge was from a spam text message I received about horoscopes. I did not click on the link but they still charged me. I have now requested a refund from the company.
I am not sure if this is the right place to post but I just wanted to warn people as the only place they could have got my phone number from is from competitions I enter on here. It is all I use this phone for.
Maybe I ticked a box somewhere, I really do not know.
I am on pay as you go so a £4.50 decrease was kind of obvious but anyone on a contract maybe would not notice, hence the warning.
So check your spam messages and be careful about box ticking.
Again hope this is ok to post I just wanted to bring it to peoples attention.

Don't know if they still do but some of the magazines used to have premium rate stuff to opt in/out of before submitting the entry form.0

I've had exactly the same thing happen to me.0
