You try telling my son he had to wait a week for a cable before he could download songs from the PC! He wanted it instantly and had me trawling round the high street for a cable ASAP <smile>

Hi my first post so hope this helps
I purchased a 40g ipod from the refurbished site 2 weeks ago
It is 3rd Gen and comes with everything in the first post, you only need the usb cable if you don't have a firewire socket on your PC. The software that comes with it can be updated by going to the Apple downloads site and many of the bugs for PC have been fixed.
Cost was £169 (free P+P) works out to 58% off list price and it was also brand new i think they are selling off the older model as this offer has been about for a couple of weeks now.
Still i think it's a great bargain and i can't imagine not having it now sadly i'm 2 weeks down the line and still have only managed to get as far as transfering two thirds of my cd's on to it
thanksn0 -

We had been searching for an Ipod for ages and the cheapest we had seen anywhere previously had been a little over £200. There was a thread on the shop but don't drop board a week or so ago about a cheap one from a catalogue site for £181 but I'm not sure everyone who applied for that offer actually got them and they are now out of stock.

Sorry no idea. My son's one has a dial on the front and three touch type buttons above that, does that help?

Hello, I ordered a couple of these refurb 40gb ipods blindly assuming they were 4th gen, they were not, they were 3rd gen. So no click wheel. Apple let me return them for free, with a full refund. Choose carefully.
