I'm sure that I have seen a reference to this recently, part of the publicity to ease the pressure on GPs.
If this is correct what range of conditions can they prescribe for and is there any central list enabling one to be found locally?

It depends on what qualification the pharmacist holds. When I was studying for my health visitor qualification, one of the lecturers was a pharmacist who could prescribe anything that a GP could.
As for finding one locally, you could try giving their professional body a ring?0 -

There's the minor ailments scheme

I've used the Boots page as it was more informative than other websites though it's not the only resource for information.
Some areas are withdrawing from it so best to check.0
