Adli portable 7" dvd £59.99

Aldi have a Tevion 7" portable Dvd player on offer at £59.99. Specs look okay. Anyone have thisa machine or a view on whether or not it is worth buying?... Was thinking of Christmas present for 12 year old. Any thoughts pls?

my sister-in-law bought a similar medion one from aldi last year for her 5-year old son (ahead of a long plane journey) and it developed a fault (wouldn't play discs). Aldi advised her to contact Medion who asked her to send them in the receipt and they would refund it - cost was £59.99 - they refunded £80 - they didn't even ask her to send in the broken player - great service!

Except for the swivel screen this looks very similar to the one I bought from Aldi for £49.99 earlier this year.

seen on eof these today, they look tidy, picture lookd sharp altough the screen is small so keep that in mind!!

The postoffice shop (at main p.o) has 2 very similar items, ones bush the other alba, £39 for first and £49 for second, But if you go on a wednesday thats a 10%day and u can get the cheapie for 34 quid, i bought 3 two weeks back for kids xmas pressies.

goodmans direct have a 8" widescreen on offer atm for £49.99 delivered - was £99.99 - I have pricechecked this everywhere and it comes up at leas £99.99. I ordered sunday night, chose my del. date and rec'd it yesterday - also comes with a family movie dvd pack. hth someone.

Currys have the Matsui 701 7" portable dvd player for aroud £55... the big advantage being that it can play DivX movies downloaded from the web
