Annuity with Sunlife of Canada

I am in this position. But because I didn't seek advice in time I have reached the age of 76 and now it seems difficult to move to any other providers. Where should I look to compare other companies schemes?

You cant look to compare with other companies.

Annuities are cast in stone at purchase. The time to look around was when you purchased it. Once bought, that is it.

A work colleague recommended the SunLife to me and I blindly followed some 30 years ago.

The only solution it seems is that since SunLife no longer offer these policies it has created an arrangement with Legal and General so that the value of my plan can be transferred to them.

This has already been an expensive exercise as SunLife have already deducted 25% of my plan value to be transferred to HMRC due apparently because I had not started receiving a monthly plan at age 75?

OP, why have you left it until 76 to do anything with your plan?

The answer to that is that I have a more than satisfactory pension!
