Hi
Not sure if this is the right place for this but.... I had a current account with Nationwide it went £50 over and with in days they added £100 of fees on top. At the time I was in a desperate place financial and just hid from it along with over £55k of other debt. I recently got a credit report and Nationwide have been reporting the account as late payments for the last 4 years. I’m in a position now where I can pay off the debt but I think it would be better to have the account defaulted at 6 months of late payments rather than closed now with 4 years of late payments. The thinking behind this is that I believe the default would be off my credit file before the late payments. Is this possible are Nationwide reasonable when negotiating things like this? Sorry if this is in the wrong place but any advice would be greatly appreciated
