Hi has anybody had any problems with their stagecoach smartcard not working and having to fork out exta on tickets?
I have made a formal complaint to stagecoach as i had paid £60 for a monthly ticket and as it wouldnt work had to spend an extra £20 on a day rider and a weekly rider through no fault of my own. They refunded the £60 which i had to put straight back on a new smartcard so im still out of pocket £20.
Can anyone give me legal advice on where i stand wkth getting my money back? From reading comments on stagecoach fb page other people seem to be having the same problem how can stagecoach get away with this??
Thanks in advance

But you have had the use of that Dayrider ticket.
Your new monthly ticket didn't include that day did it?
The only refund should perhaps be the difference between a Dayrider ticket and the value of one day of a monthly ticket.0 -
My monthly ticket should have covered the period i had to pay extra, and i wont notice the extra week i have on my monthly ticket as i will always have to pay £60 a month for my ticket, my problem was that i am out of pocket £20 when i dont feel i should be due to stagecoach problems. From reading other stagecoach complaints this is happening to quite a few people and stagecoach are making money off people having to pay extra throughout the month on top of their monthly passes. It just doesnt seem right they can do that especially when its the only form of transport for some people and they have no other option.0

Oh, so now you are saying they have given you an extra week.
Clearly you have no claim.0 -
No they refunded me the £60 which i had to put straight back onto another card for a monthly pass, i therefore have in effect an extra week before i have to pay for the next monthly pass so no they have not guven me an extra week! At the end of the day i am still down on money due to stagecoachs faulty card0

Travel companies all around the U.K. are looking at TFL with envious eyes looking at all the hugely profitable skanks they can pull with ‘smartcards’
It’s only going to get worse.0
