Mag Daily Comps - Winners Names

Options
I'm beginning to lose faith with these. My husband and I have always had reasonable success with them - although there have been a few problems in that when they used to put the winners names on the competition news letter I saw our names on more than one occaision (no WEM) and had to chase when no prize turned up. One was a £300 prize which took a lot of resolving as DMRI ignored emails and I had to contact the mag and the company providing the prize before they eventually responded.
Now, we could both be having a legitimate dry spell, but since they no longer put the names on the news letter and do not list all the winners names on the websites, (although it does still say "all winners") , our wins from this source have completely dried up. Could be coincidence but the timing was spot on!
My MIL has recently signed up for the comps and filled in the online enquiry form via one of the TI Media mags asking why the winners names of a few higher value prizes, which she named ,were not listed and requested the names of the winners- she has not received any kind of response!
Is it just us or has anyone else noticed a drop in their luck on these?

It may be a breach of the rules to publish the names since GDPR came in - this is something the ASA are still considering.

(Gaining consent at time of entry is not being considered good enough as a prize cannot be withheld if consent is not given or if consent is withdrawn anytime before a winner is publicly announced)

But then you would expect them to not publish any winners names.

People can still "freely" give consent but it is being considered that it cannot be a condition attached to receiving a prize and there is still a right to withdraw that consent at any time.

    The relevant ASA paragraph
    Announcing prize winners
Code rule 8.28.5 states that promotors must publish, or make available the full name and county of all major prize winners. CAP is completing work following a consultation on changes to its rules on the collection and use of data for marketing. These changes are intended to ensure that its rules cover data protection issues most relevant to marketing, and that they are aligned with the standards introduced by the General Data Protection Regulation (the GDPR). Until the work is completed, the ASA will not administer rule 8.28.5.

Hi Gandor, I always used to win one prize a month from the Mag comps, however I have not won anything for about 5 months now, I thought it was down to more people entering but I did think it was strange,

I used to do very well on them but after nearly a year of no wins I gave up on them last year and didn't start again until last autumn.

Apart from a 'runner-up' prize in the New Year- a voucher for £20 off their chair products- so I'd have to spend quite a bit to use it.

    Nothing since.
