    Morning everyone

I’ve just got back from my first radiotherapy treatment. Having the first appointment at 8.00am is good, I was in and out in no time. I’m pleased that the first one is out of the way because it doesn’t matter how much they tell you it doesn’t hurt at all there is still the fear of the unknown. I think that the biggest worry for me is going to be getting there on time. This morning I was there at 7.30am having booked a taxi for 7.15, but I would prefer that to worrying about being late.

As they have told me that it is unlikely that I will start to get any side effects for the first week I’m going to go out for a little while as it is a lovely sunny day.

Further than that I haven’t made any plans for today, not even what to have for dinner.

TA the thought of staying at the caravan must be so difficult for you (hugs). I hope that you get what you want in M&S. I live in fear of them closing ours.

Dp1 it’s good to hear that the baby is doing so well.

    Have a good day everyone.

Morning all!Must have snored like a train last night, feel super dopey today.Better look into getting something for the snoring.

Picked up a few pieces of chunky wood yesterday to make an edged bed, we'll see if any more happens to come my way...cold do with another twelve pieces....
Found lots of bottles at the tip, mostly broken ones, friends husband was very pleased becaus he found two locally made bottles, and we could very nearly not drag him away from there. They'll be going again next week...Might go again too. I brought two home, one very small squat one with 'Stephenson Brothers' and 'Furniture Cream' on opposite sides [just googled that one, 1908 apparently...]and a large-ish flat brown bottle that had obviously been too near the fire because it was melted around the neck.
TA, if you're in my neck of the woods, give me a shout. But I did have a quick look online and there are actually clubs who look for victorian tip sites, there are quite a few if you're interested, it'd be easy to find one.
So today I am off to Oxford to play, will try and get in to the Maggies Center and see what happens in there.
The rest of the week I have nothing planned except a good tidy up if I can do it and not starting any more jobs without finishing at least one...so if you don't see me, I'm buried under a mountain of fabric, call the stash police! j/k!
Right, I'm not going to start having fun if I don't get off the internet...Have a good day Nelski, hope all goes well driving and doing today! Morning Holly, hope people watching was fun.[cross posted because I'm so slow writing] yes, they told me that too, did they tell the truth?Glad to hear it was so quick though!..hey dumpling, ltns, nice to see you! OL, shove a pillow in his mouth next time....:)
Good to know the good news continues with people not so unwell, so take the extra hugs for those who are.

TA, for future reference you can have online orders delivered to the Simply Food in Skipton for free (and return them there).

taff, I went to the Maggies centre in Cambridge while Steve was having his long chemo session last time. There's a lot going on - make-up sessions, yoga etc and it was nice to have a chat with someone.

We drove up to Yorkshire yesterday evening. We have one of the Hive devices on our heating system so that we can switch it on remotely but for some reason it wasn't linked to the internet so it was a tad chilly when we got here. We lit both wood burners though and it soon warmed up.

Steve's been talking to Yorkshire Water because we thought they had installed a meter but they are still billing us on the RV which is a lot higher than a meter would be.

We're off to Skipton soon. I have a bag of bras discarded by Laura which Oxfam apparently will take. I just need a few bits to complete the meals while we are here and will have a mooch round some of the shops. I need a card for Brian's birthday in a couple of weeks as well.

It is a lovely day and I slept in till after nine then hung a load of bedding outside, emptied the dishwasher and had a brunch of bacon, eggs and tomatoes.

After finding out yesterday that my debit card needed to be cancelled and changed I am getting the bus to York soon to a main bank to get some cash to tide me over till the new bank card arrives.

I have some of Sunday's lunch to have tonight and have chicken breasts defrosting to add to roasted veg tonight in the pressure king pro and then have in the fridge for tomorrow. I am visiting older DD and baby and am bringing a few things from my stores that she can use to save her some time and money as I found some really good deals.

As DD, baby and DH will be away on Friday for the weekend she has suggested she drives to me on Thursday afternoon with baby and after baby has her nap she wants to treat me to a lunch for an early Mother's Day which will be lovely.

    TA

Good luck with your shopping in Leeds and I hope it is not too crowded.

I am glad the radiotherapy went well and enjoy being out in the sunshine before you need to think about covering up etc.

    Hugs to all

Speky, it sounds as if you've had a wonderful weekend with your family, great stuff!!

We are taking the van to N Yorks, so not far for us. I'm looking forward to it.

TA, yes, the site rental is painful isn't it. Our Dd and partner have a static on the N Yorks coast, and their rental etc is terrifying. Still, they get a lot of use out of it. We are just storing a tourer, but it's bad enough. It's good to know it's secure though, with CCTV and someone on the site all the time.

Glad you got your radiotherapy over with Holly
