Just kept going!

So I became mortgage free a few years ago through consistently over-paying what I owed. After I paid off the mortgage I said I was going to start just enjoying the fact I didn't have any debt repayments to make. May be it's just a hard habit to break but I am now mortgage free and for the first time this month have a six figure sum in my bank accounts. I think I got addicted......... :D Not sure I am going for the full Financial Independence goal but it's nice to know that if push come to shove I can make decisions without worrying about next month's salary

If you had asked me 20 years ago if I would have been in this position then the answer would have been an emphatic absolutely no chance! A few years of really keeping a check on spending can make so much difference further down the line!

This is golden to hear :T. Well done for becoming mortgage free and now living the lifestyle that comes with it. I cant imagine that feeling of earning money which is 'mine' and not the banks.

Im certain i will get to where you are within the next 10 years, will just be hitting 40yo so can enjoy the MF life with my DH and kids.

    Thanks for posting  xx
