Hi Guys
Just got back from my counsellors appointment.... I still need to think through what we talked about, but I will update again later.
All I know is she said it sounds like stress and depression and that I need to increase my 'pleasure' activities. As all work and no fun is not helping me.
So I will see you later.Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -
Ok Why me??
What did I do to deserve this!!!?
I've done a thread on 'bad luck' entitled 'why are some people good with money', which did'nt seem to be very popular:rolleyes:
The point you illustrate is crucial. 99% of posts here are just sticking plaster, they dont even attempt to gop right back to cause and effect.
I really am tyring to help, but I feel like Simon Cowell - tell em the truth and get booed.
CAUSE AND EFFECT - we all have bad luck, yet some people seem to get an added dose. The question is why?
It's all down to seemingly insignificant choices which start way back (but not too late to change).
From the TV programmes we watch, to the food we eat, the pubs we vist and the company we keep, it all has an affect on our eventual life experience.
Luck is a snowball BUT YOU ARE THE PUSHER. If you want to gather more bad luck, carry on as you are. If you dont, you need to completely change the way you think about everything.
I dont know about your wing mirror but I do know that even that 'can' (not always) came down to a choice. My Dad for example spends a lot longer than me parking anywhere. As a result he never gets any car park damage etc. So his choice has effected his luck.
Another example; Some people seem to get a lot of colds and think this is luck, but then you discover they dont open thier windows at home and they do have the heat on all the time. Germs of course love that type of hot sickly enviroment.
TV - we all enjoy a bit of fluff but surely it's also important to for example watch documentaries about child care. In this way you stand more of a chance of helping your kids to achieve better outcomes. So again luck has a small part but you are the primary driver of your destiny.
Some poeple dont take care of thier bodies, home, car but do read inane celeb mags. Its pretty obvious that this type of person is bound to have more 'bad luck'.
Sorry if this comes accross badly - I'm not good at writing0 -
big hugs honey - I hope you're ok now. i can completely understand how some days it just all gets to you and on others it just seems to float on by and you can deal with it.

It didn't. I know exactly what you mean.
My wing mirror - I have to park on the road outside my house, I have no other choice, which is why this happened. Luckily (see what I did there) OH managed to fix it last night
I saw the counsellor yesterday afternoon and she basically said I do this to myself. I've got into a negative pattern of thinking and I am struggling to get out of it. I also take on to much responsibility and then feel guilty/bad when I have fun.
Like you say bad luck doesn't really exisit, it's all to do with the way you think about the world around you. But the problem with stress and depression (as I was diagnoised yesterday) is that it's hard to see the wood from the trees sometimes.
So basically I have to change the way I behave in the world, be a little more selfish, not beat myself up when things go wrong, because at the end of the it's not my fault.
Thanks for your comment's intelligent, rational side of me knows that, but sometimes the rest of me forgetsCurrent debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -

Thanks Hon.
Apparently I need to bring more fun into my life  But at the end of the day I have to do it myself. I'll get there. I have to go back and see her in about 3 weeks.Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -
Morning
OH managed to fix my wing mirror:T I managed to day with only 5 syns and stuck to the Slimming World plan (see miracles can happen)
Still really tried today, but the counsellor said that is just a symptom of my body wanting me to slow down and take some care of myself.
But I am ok and I'm trying to get a more positive outlook on life as the only thing I can be blamed for is negative thinking. Which has to stop.
I have a feeling that might be easier said than done, but she also explained why I am so angry at my best friend. I sent her a note explaining that my depression had come back on the 9th Nov and I've not heard from her since. Understandablely I am really upset by this, rationally I know we all live busy lives and there is probably some reason why she hasn't contacted me; but I am still hurt and angered by this. Apparently my feelings are normal since because I am feeling vurnerable at the moment I want my support network around me. She is a big part of it and isn't there, this may not be her fault, but I am blaming her anyway. This is reasonably healthy apparentlyBut I think another big part of my support network is you guys. So I think you are going to be stuck with me for a little while longer
Love you all xCurrent debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -

OH got lots of kisses before he went home for a shower! He came straight from work so wouldn't move off the doormat! :rotfl: I decided he was very clever, he thought my gratitude was amusing!
The counsellor said to do something that I enjoy and if I can get in some more exercise that would be great. She got really excited when I said I Salsa as that is just the sort of thing she wants me to do. But it's doing something that doesn't cost.
I scrapbook and make cards (making my own christmas cards this year) but believe me this one can work out expensive as there are soooo many things you just have to have! :rolleyes:Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0
