DRS debt recovery on behalf of eBay

I owe eBay £350 for an Item I sold for £1500. I didnt believe it was fair for eBay to take such a high percentage on the item so I decided to disconnect my paypal account from my eBay account so that they dont end up taking the money from me. At that point eBay is preventing me from making any sales or purchases on my account until I pay that off. Recently i started getting SMS messages from DRS collections on behalf of eBay to pay the sum of £400. They said they have been sending me emails and mail however I noticed that eBay has a very old address of mine which is over 6 years old so none of DRS's letters has been coming to my current address so neither DRS or eBay as a valid address for me. At this point is it safe to keep ignoring SMS's from DRS since they dont have my address? and would they be able to take court action against me to recover the £350?

Hi,
I expect you would have been aware of the final value fee payable on the item you sold ?
There fee`s can be high, but are clearly stated.
Lucky for you almost all ebays claims for money owed stop at threatening letters from there tame debt collectors, the reason being most of the type of debts they chase are unenforcable in a court, including this one, so....lucky for you.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. How come its unenforceable in court?
There is an argument that ebay fees are fines, which cannot be enforced through the courts, it depends which charge they are chasing you for, also to take you to court, they must prove the loss, they chase millions of non payers, they cannot take everyone to court, so rely on ramping up the threats by letter mostly.
I do not know of one case ever been taken to court by ebay, plenty of threats, but no actual court cases, that i can find.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Just be mindfull though that if a family member living at the same address as you also has an ebay account, ebay may well suspend that one as well.
You will also no longer be able to use Paypal or ebay to buy or sell on so long as this debt remains unpaid.
Ebay may not take people to Court, but they can stop them ever using their platform if monies are owed.
If you are at a new address that is not on your ebay files, you could try registering as a new user, using a middle name if you have one. \same with Paypal.Never Knowingly Understood.

Yes I opened a new eBay account at my current address. eBay has a very old address from 6+ years back for the owed account so I guess I should be fine.0

As you considered £350 unfair what was the amount you considered fair and so paid?0

There must be more to this. eBay fees are 10% with a cap at £250 so there is no way you could be charged £350 for a £1500 sale.0

I sold at diamond bracelet which sold at 1,500 and they want £350 on it. This is why i disconnected my paypal from my eBay as i didnt agree with the invoice they sent me.0

I’m also going through the same problem but the difference is I’m being charged £27 they sent me a letter it was from drs should I just ignore it?0
