Wrong council tax band

Hi
I believe I’m in the wrong band for my council tax. I have done all the checks MSE suggest and it works out that I’m in a band higher than what I should be.
I have tried to challenge this with my local authority but they want proof to show this, and it doesn’t include anything or any sites MSE suggest to check your band. It has to be phot proof of a house same as mine in a different band to me. Unfortunately there aren’t any except my neighbour who is also in my band.
Has anyone got any other ways for proof ?
Thanks

The MSE guide suggests if you don't have a neighbour comparison which supports your case then it is not worth the risk of challenging the band.
So what evidence have you got?0 -
If you have used a house price index to calculate the 1991 (Eng and Scot) or 2003 (Wales) value, then be aware that these are inaccurate. Also it is not the council who deal with CT banding, it is the VOA (Eng and Wales) or the Assessor (Scot). If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

You can get evidence of historic property sale prices from the 90s by searching on Zoopla.0

It's actually not that unreliable, I use it all the time to find out what my neighbors paid for their properties. If you want to pay the Land Registry instead for the same sold prices data that is freely available on Zoopla then that's up to you.0
