I agree - but don’t come on ‘ere, bleating about lenders conduct towards you - after being a proven defaulter.0 -
Your CIFAS marker is the most likely cause for the extra checks... also reason why you haven’t been ‘tipped’ to the reason for the checks.
Whilst your previous application may have gone through smoothly, the CIFAS marker will and SHOULD slow things down to ensure you and the lender are protected.0 -

You're thinking of National Hunter maybe?
There won't be anything on an unsuccessful credit application on CIFAS unless they suspect fraud, and that'd be an instant decline.0 -
I can’t see it being anything major as it would have been an instant decline. I will give them a call lunchtime today if I’ve not had the money.0

If you get no luck on the phone and you have a Nationwide branch near you, maybe you might want to pop in and see someone face to face, especially if they're a senior adviser or manager, they may be able to get more information for you and help move things on?0

No not thinking of National Hunter.
OP said that they had been victim of identity fraud previously and as such did a protective registration with CIFAS... in essence this means that any credit application they make should be subject to additional checks to try and prevent further identify fraud.0 -
The issue has been resolved.
The application had got stuck in their system so hadn’t been looked at.
It was the CIFAS they asked additional questions and the funds have been been paid into my bank.
They apologised for their error. If I hadn’t of called it would have never been picked up.0 -
Glad it all got sorted.0

Me too I was worried I’d done something wrong. They offered to raise a complaint but I said it wasn’t necessary.0
