MCS certificate help

Options
Hello everyone,

I'm filling out MCS certificate because my supplier couldnt be bothered to do it ( I will explain later)

On the form it sais total installed capacity which is 12 x 300w which is 3.60 kw
Then declared net capacity kW which I'm stuck on would it be same as above or the capacity of the inverter which is 3.3kw?

I'm not sure any help?

On mine (that I did yesterday) I was told to put 6kw but that's because I had to apply to the DNO for a bigger system. Your system does not require the DNO to be informed. However, although I don't think you need to put anything I would just put 3.6kw

22deg pitch East to west 12 panels on the East and 8 on the West

Oh OK, I think your right it's not compulsory on the MCS form but it is on the fit form and I don't really want any problems after if I don't put it on.
I also have another install with 4.20kw of panels on the same capacity inverter.

I'm tempted to just put 3.3kw for net declared? Or 3.6kw as said as I don't think it matters much

But I would like your opinions before I submit the form tomorrow morning

    Hi

I've always been under the impression that the conditions imposed on installers for MCS registration include the requirement for formal system handover, which would include evidence of MCS database registration via a hard copy of the certificate.

I'm aware that MCS have a process to cover certification where installers have ceased trading between installation & handover, but believe that this still includes the need for proof of ownership involving a dated invoice issued by a qualified installer that was registered on the date of the installation, as well as proof that the invoice was paid in full.

I really don't follow why anyone would have paid an installation invoice in full before the contracted installation was completed, which would include receipt of the necessary certification required for FiT scheme registration through approved energy suppliers ....

    ... so what happened??

#edit - ps ... Is the 'other' installation mentioned at the same site?

The declared net capacity has to be the rated output of your panels, 3.6kW

I question this as I have 4.6kW installed but a 3.68kW inverter, the mcs registration doesn't care how much you install, that's only an issue with the DNO and FiT provider.
I was worried that mine showing 4.6kW would cause problems, it didn't.
The FiT and DNO only care about the inverter rating.

So Would you say just put down the capacity of the inverter?

No, as above it has to be the capacity of the panels.

So total installed capacity and net declared capacity are the same figures?

Oh OK man this is confusing. However if let's say 5kw of panels but on a capped 3.68 inverter the maximum ouput is never going to be above 4kw at one time that's what confused me but I appreciate everyones help.
