Returning To The UK - Applying For A Mortgage

Hi all,

I need some help, and potentially a recommendation for a mortgage broker to help me.

I've been away for the last 4 years in the middle east returning next week. I have a job to come back to and we've managed to save a small deposit for a house. In this time i've pretty much dropped off the UK credit scores. I have all my history from here; authenticated bank statements, CRB clearances, Official credit bureau report etc. Would these be considered in the UK?

Historically i have had some 'issues' my old signature at the bottom basically paints it's own picture however these are long behind me.

Honestly, i do not know where to start. I'm worried about taking a punt and applying for a mortgage to only get rejected and put a big black mark against my name again. I am concerned about proving my earnings etc from the ME etc.

Any help appreciated before i do something that could take another year again to clear from my report.

Thanks,

D3P0

You wont be getting a normal mortgage straight away. You will need a more specialist lender (higher rates, manual underwriting). You will need a broker.

If you do a 2 year deal, by the end of that you could probably be looking at a couple of normal lenders, but many need 3 years uk address history.
