You are not serious???
Yes Car Credit were recently highlighted by a BBC (Watchdog?) special showing how they treated the customers, adn they were amongst the wrost companies I've ever seen!! Eg their 'comprehensive pre-sale check of the cars condition' consisted of putting it up on a ramp and having a quick look (with their eyes closed!); IIRC the mechanics got into trouble for fixing anything coz it reduced the profit on the car!!
You haven't a chance of getting a penny out of them - UNLESS you can take them to court and prove they lied to you about the roadworthiness of the car, etc.
Again IIRC they seem to specialise in providing over-priced cars to those who have finance troubles - so someone buys a car from them; real value of car is £3k, they sell it at £6k and by time finance paid it costs the buyer £9K.
Good luck.0 -
I personnaly wouldn't touch yes car credit with a barge pole after reading other plights with them. Have a look here http://www.grumbletext.co.uk/index.php
You'll find some interesting info that you may be able to use as ammunition. Good luck i wish you well with them

Can you tell us why you want to return the car? It may open up some options....He huihuinga taangata he pukenga whakaaro – A meeting of people; a wellspring of ideas (Maori proverb)0

I dont fancy paying for another 3years as money is getting tight at the moment. At the time it seemed like a good idea0

As far as I know you can't just do that. You need to read your agreement but I suspect that if you can return it before the term is up you will be expected to pay a large penalty.0

If it's a Hire Purchase or Conditional Sale agreement (and I presume it is) then you can return the car at any point if you've paid >=50% of the total amount due, without any further liability.
But you probably haven't paid enough after a year - depends if you paid a large deposit (I expect not). Useful for people who have awful cars and want rid, though.0 -

If you can hang on for another year you can walk with no come back after repaying half of the total agreement- see my post in a thread with a similar question.:idea:I got an idea, an idea so smart my head would explode if I even began to know what I was talking about:idea:0 -

Hi Kald - to answer your question - Yes it is possible.
I like you thought it was a good iead at the time to take a car out with Yes. I knew I was paying over the odds ect, and everythign that goes with a company like YES, but this got me out of a whole so..
Anyway, like you money was tight and we needed a bigger car as daughter 4 was arriving soon, phoned YES in Horsham (Head Office) and asked if I could return the car as was having finicial difficulties, agreed straight away (this was after 9 months of me owning the car!!).
Agreed with YES that I would pay £20.00 p/c/m off the debt at one of these pay points places.
Before people say this is foolish - I know it probably will never get payed off at this rate , but I need to free cash up now not think about 10 years down the line, by wich time we will have double my single salary in the house, so...
To conclude I found YES head office to be very helpfull, although their sales garage in Wensfield is another story!!
